Teeth Whitening
A whiter, brighter smile is beautiful and can help you feel better about yourself and make a memorable impression.
If you have stained or discoloured teeth, but otherwise like your smile the way it is, all you may need is a tooth whitening procedures to give you the smile you've always wanted. Our teeth normally become discolored over time and from staining on the surface from food and drinks such as tea, coffee and red wine and also smoking.
We offer in-clinic and supervised at-home whitening systems to achieve significant improvements in the white scale of the teeth. Whitened teeth can then be maintained at home using the at-home kit, along with whitening toothpastes to prevent discoloration occurring again.
A professional dental hygiene must have been undertaken within 30 days prior to the professional whitening treatment, therefore a dental hygiene is normally done prior to the whitening.
The whitening treatments we provide are:
* Zoom Advanced Power® in-clinic: The Zoom Advanced Power® system uses a special gel and lamp system to whiten the teeth. It is the most sophisticate tooth whitening system and provides the most significant improvement in one session.

* Opalescence in-clinic: This technique uses a special gel to whiten the teeth using enhanced chemical activation. The gel activates itself as it sits on the teeth. It enables significantly whiter teeth after one visit to the clinic. The technique provides rapid results while being simple, effective, safe and affordable.
* Opalescence at-home: This technique uses a plastic tray that has been fabricated to fit comfortably over a person's teeth. The tray’s material is soft plastic foil and therefore it is quite comfortable to wear. Your dentist will explain how to use the gel. You will place the Opalescence bleaching gel (carbamide peroxide) into the tray and the tray is then worn for several hours (usually overnight), allowing the whitening process to take place. Treatment takes between 3-5 days depending on the condition of the teeth.
Note:
* Existing tooth coloured dental restorations, such as fillings or crowns, will not be whitened by the procedure while original teeth will. So, depending on the position of such restorations, the whiting may not result in a desirable cosmetic result.
* Occasionally some patients may experienced uncomfortable short-term side effects such as sensitivity of the teeth from certain of the procedures. The dentist will identify any such significant risks and advise you on the most appropriate method of treatment.
* Overzealous use of over-the-counter home bleaching products can wear away tooth enamel, especially with solutions that contain acid. Therefore for significant improvements in tooth whiteness we recommend for a professionally administered whitening treatment.
